Condom Knowledge

How much do you know about condoms?  I’m sure you know that they are a method of birth control, but there is much more to know.  For example, as a birth control method a latex condom has a 2% failure rate with perfect use, but typical use produces a 15% failure rate.  A latex condom when used correctly provides effective protection from STD’s, however lambskin condoms do not.  If allergic to latex, a polyurethane condom will also do the job.  Use of an oil-based lubricant can weaken a condom and cause it to break.  Water-soluble lubricants such as K-Y should be used with condoms.  You should always pinch the tip of the condom before unrolling it, and withdraw immediately after ejaculation to prevent the condom slipping and potential leakage of ejaculate. That condom you’ve been carrying around in your wallet may not be the best idea as heat can weaken a condom.  They need to be kept in cool, dry places.  They also have an expiration date, so be sure to check that before using.  A standard sized condom should be fine for most men, but there are larger and snugger sizes available.  The important thing is that it fit snug enough.  A loose condom is potential trouble.  Most importantly, NEVER use a condom twice.  Once and done should be your motto. Another round = another condom. If that standard condom is loose on you, check out our website for information on Penile Enlargement.
